Candi Girl Roller Skates vs Moxi Skates [Key Similarities & Differences]

I heard your pleas and I got a pair of Candi girl roller skates and in this blog post I’ll be comparing it to the likes of Moxi skates.  If you’re just joining my skating community, welcome to my blog and I promise to keep you updated on all thing roller skating.

So, remember how you guys encouraged me to try out the Moxi lolly skates and of course I didn’t fail to drop my reviews about that pair. They are super dope roller skates and I strongly recommend them especially for beginners and those of you who have high fashion taste.

I’ll like to keep you guys pre-informed that the Candi girl roller skates and the Moxi skates are very similar roller skates. I have never seen two pair of roller skates that look so much alike. However, no two roller skates ever feels the same, there is always a difference.

While the candi girl roller skates and the Moxi skates look similar, the major difference between them is that the candi girl roller skates feels much heavier than the Moxi skates. The Moxi roller skates is much more light weight and I think the reason for this is because of the aluminum plate that the candi girl roller skates comes in.

Based on personal experiences if I was asked to choose between the two roller skates, I’ll definitely go for the Moxi skates because love how they made me feel. Don’t get me wrong, the candi girl roller skates are also great skates, but the rank the least in my roller skating collection.

The look and appearance of the candi girl roller skates didn’t really give me the feel I wanted, however regardless of that they are really nice skates and I wear them quite often.

If you need a roller skates that has great padding and ankle grip, I’ll definitely recommend the candi girl and they really went all out in making sure your ankles are guarded. However, I want to pitch in that you might want to skate on them every day for at least two hours as the take a lot of time to break it. It took me almost three weeks to break them in. this may be different for you by the way because when I got them, I made sure to skate 4 hours every day at different intervals.

Without wasting any further time, let’s get into what we have planned for today.

What are Candi Girl Roller Skates?

The first thing you want to know about the candi girl roller skates is that they are quad skates.

This information brought me so much relief and I’m sure it will bring you guys the same feeling too. Because they are quad skates, they are so much easier to learn with and strongly recommend them for amateur and intermediate roller skaters out there looking for recreational roller skating boots.

The Candi girl is made of brushed suede and has a padded comfort lining. Unlike most rollers skating boots that come with no soft padding for your legs, the candi girl roller skates has a soft padding at the edge of the end of the roller boots. This gives your feet more comfort while skating and reduces any form of blisters while breaking them in.

The candi girl roller skates takes about approximately 3 weeks to break in depending on how much you skate with them. So ensure that you skate with them regularly until they are broken- in.

It comes with gummy wheels which isn’t really ideal for intense and fast skaters. However, regardless of that, I enjoyed using them because they are soft wheel and you won’t necessarily feel every bump you come across unlike that of when using hard wheels.

They are not really that fast because of the bearing they come with. I doubt they are even designed to go any faster than they do when you try them out- but hey, there’s nothing bad in trying to change what you don’t like.

The tongues are really shabby and suck because they come with no extra padding whatsoever and you may have a hard time keeping them in place while skating. I also noticed that getting most of its featurs changed is relatively expensive and can even be used to buy a new pair of roller skates.

What are Moxi Skates?

I’ll give you heads-ups just like I did in my last Moxi skates.  Make sure that you are on the site on the release date of the Moxi skates because the way these babies are rushed is really scary.

However, I must confess, they are really worth the wait and the rush.

The skates provide premium comfort, it isn’t really as padded as the candi girl roller skates  but they are super comfortable and I highly recommend them for beginners in the roller skating niche.

Now, as comfortable as these skates are, I didn’t really enjoy using the toe-stops they came in. it left mark on the ground and I notice that it pudders each time I applied brakes. They also didn’t last as long as I would have wanted them to so I had to get them changed.

It comes with a 65mm wheel and is super cute. they gave me a more accelerating feeling. They didn’t really grip to the surface like I would have preferred which left me feeling less in control of my skating.

The tongues are thin and basically the same as the candi girl roller skates except for the fact that it came with extra padding. The liners are beautiful and soft, one of the reasons it provides comfort.

Moving forward, the cost and affordability of these skates are pretty expensive. I got mine for $340 which isn’t affordable if you ask me. Especially for beginners in skating.

Why Should You Buy Candi Girl Roller Skates or Moxi Skates?

The candi girl roller skates and the Moxi skates are both incredible skates and would be an ideal pick for beginners and intermediates in the roller skating niche. If you don’t like the sure-grips or the impala roller skates, then you should definitely go for these roller skates.

I also like to recommend them for recreational skaters, who are not looking to go into any serious type of skating such as cross training, intense skaters, dangerous skaters.

However, the choice is definitely up to you. Buy which ever you want based on the budget you have or just your preference. But I must say, they are definitely great roller skates.

Candi Girl Roller vs Moxi Skates Differences

The Candi girl is made of brushed suede and comes with a padded comfort lining. They also have solid ankle support, thus good choice for beginners. I like that they offer high end quality aluminum chassis and Bevo Silver-5 race rated chrome bearings that are built for speed (still not an ideal pick for fast skaters)

On the other hand, the imapalskates which are mostly known for their candy-colored skates. They were first produced around the year  2017 in Australia. It also comes with aluminum plates and soft wheels for both indoor and outdoor use and a fixed toe-stop (however, it is lighter in weight when compared to the candi girl roller skates. It is very affordable and has an aesthetic look which is what most roller skaters are on the lookout for.
